JOHN DI DOMENICO, has been a professional actor, writer and performer
for the last fourteen years. Originally from Ambler, Pennsylvania John
attended East Stroudsburg University and graduated from Temple University
with a BA in Speech Communications.
Di Domenico
started his professional acting career appearing in Philadelphia area
dinner theatre productions while maintaining copywriting positions with
Philadelphia advertising agencies. His gift for comedy got him noticed by
SKITZOID Comedy Troupe. Within a short period of time John was performing
and touring nationally with the company. Eventually becoming the head
writer and artistic director. For a one-year period John performed at
Atlantic City’s Trop World Hotel Casino where he had the opportunity to develop celebrity and original characters.
John toured with Children's Classic Theatre for two years. He
acted with Stage Works Touring Company for three years. John also wrote,
preformed and co-produced "Assault on Mass Media" which ran at
the Society Hill Playhouse in Philadelphia. In September of 1989 John
auditioned for and landed the role of Joey Vitale in the hit interactive improvisational show "Tony n' Tina's
Wedding". The show ran for nine months in Philadelphia then moved to
Atlantic City for two more months, once it closed he took over the role in
the Baltimore company.
Since that
time John has pursued acting in both New York and Philadelphia. John has
appeared off-Broadway “The
Line That Picked Up 1000 Babes " & "Bernie's
Bar Mitzvah". His off-off Broadway credits include "The
Execution" and "Big
Blonde" which were produced by Creative Concepts Theatre Company
of which Di Domenico was an original member.
Along with his theatre work John appeared on the short lived CBS
series "True Detectives" and "Labor
Day" for PBS.
While
working in the New York John became a member of "Some Assembly
Required", one of the city’s finest improvisation companies. SAR
gave John the opportunity to hone his improvisational and comedic
abilities even more.
John has
appeared in numerous commercials for VISA,
Miller Beer, Olive Garden, Bud Light, Bradlees, Value-Rent-a-Car, Comcast
to name a few. Di
Domenico can be seen in the films “Wide Awake”, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, “Ain’t
No Fish” and the comedy short “Mosquito Man”.
John’s
stand up act had him performing in comedy clubs all over the east coast
including Caroline’s and Catch A Rising Star.
Since he
started performing John has worked in Industrial Films for major
corporations. For the last five years John has been focusing most of his
energies on working with Live Industrial producers on large-scale
corporate theatre and trade shows on a national level.
John
finds satisfaction in working on the concept, creating, writing and
performing for corporate audiences around the country. |
